My name is Richard and I live in Bakewell
which is in the heart of the Peak District in Derbyshire.

I’ve lived in Bakewell almost all my life. I love it and have no intention of being anywhere else. I went to school here, including Lady Manners. When I first started working there it seemed strange being back, but after twenty odd years there, I’m used to it. There is still one teacher working there who was there when I was a student in the early seventies. I shan’t mention Mrs Gilbert’s name in case she sees this page.

For a good few years I then worked at C Farmer Ltd as a television repair man.

Although I’m not well travelled I have done a lot in my time including running a pub, running my own television repair business, running a mobile disco, videoing weddings, playing and singing in various bands and many other things.

I was even a postman for a while.
